Anything you've got In Common With the Elephants (Gentle Giants)
The sheer thought of Elephants brings such a refreshing visuals of these Gentle Giants, who are huge in Size, but at the same time they move with such grace and they are really the heavy weights champions with some real power.
In many parts
of India, elephants are used for manual labor; it's a practice that has been a part
of their culture for thousands of years.
Now although
they're relatively peaceful animals, elephants are incredibly strong and may be
difficult to regulate, as they will weigh eight thousand pounds or more once they
become adult.
To affect this,
handlers developed a way that permits them to “condition” elephants while
they're still young. This conditioning involves tying a young elephant’s legs
to a stake within the ground with a really thick rope, which prevents it from
moving quite a couple of feet.
Whenever the
baby elephant attempts to break free, it discovers that the rope is just too
strong. Although the elephant may attempt several times to flee, over time it
eventually gives up and accepts its fate.
As the elephant
grows to its full size, it continues to simply accept the thought that the rope
prevents it from being free, even when the strong rope is replaced with a
flimsier version.
With this
belief firmly in it, the handlers can restrain a full-sized elephant easily
with very small ropes and tiny supervision.
Now, it's easy
to ascertain that elephants and we humans are completely different; however,
this story shows how conditioning can keep an animal clearly superior to humans
in strength and size in check.
The reality of
this instance is that the elephant can walk off at any time, which it might be
pretty difficult for its handlers to prevent it if it chose to try to do so. Its
belief system that tells it walking away is impossible, then it stays captive
for the remainder of its life.
No, we aren't
elephants, but a bit like them, many folks create limiting beliefs about
ourselves and therefore the world at a young age. We base them on mostly
inaccurate information, and it's these beliefs that are the explanation for
many of our present problems.
I have added a
video on Elephants with gentle background music. Hope you enjoy watching this
wonderful animals.
